So excited to share this adorable Peter Rabbit Party party by super sweet and talented mom, Erica Courtney. She did such an amazing job planning and executing this Garden themed party to celebrate her daugther’s 7th birthday! It was an honor to design some printables for Zoe Grace! This party was also featured in the lastest issue of Twinkle Twinkle Little Party Magazine. We now have a special spot for moms who have a passion for everything party related! Check out the beautiful images!
Erica’s words ….
My daughter, Zoe Grace, is obsessed with gardens. I thought it would be perfect to plan her spring birthday party around one of her favorite books, Peter Rabbit so that I could incorporate Peter and his garden antics into the party. I wanted to incorporate all of the elements from the book throughout the party. Andressa of Twinkle Twinkle Little Party ensured that my vision of a vintage printables came to life, including favor tags, tent cards and a banner.
I am so fortunate to have an amazing friend in Nicole from Nic of Time Photography. She has seen me at my best (party time) and worst (right after giving birth) and we work so well together! I love her style and she is so great with children. She just makes herself comfortable and goes to work to capture each and every little detail from my parties without disrupting the flow of the event. She can even get my strong-willed daughter to smile, so I love her even more for that!
I am obsessed with white, so I kept everything simple and clean and accented the table and the hutch with burlap and pastel colors. I used the wonderful text from the book to create food labels that fit perfectly with the delectable desserts. I used the lush cabbage and fresh radish to decorate the table. They are a rabbit’s favorite food, after all!
I took advantage of all the fresh vegetables and fresh Florida fruit to serve alongside the bevy of desserts. Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cottontail would have gorged themselves on the scrumptious berries and Plant City Strawberries. The Cake Pop Shop by Jennie ensured that the garden of cake pops were nothing less than the best. She created radish, carrot, and lettuce cake pops and crushed Oreos to mimic dirt to place in the garden frame. She also made chocolate covered Oreos with vegetable accents on each one.
For kid-friendly option, she also made chocolate covered Rice Krispy Treats using the vegetable accents and chocolate covered pretzel rods that looked like carrots. I am quite sure that my sassy three year old had one of those pretzels in her hand at all times during the party! Yummy, for sure!
Zoe Grace requested her cake to look like Mr. McGregor’s garden, complete with his shed. Jennifer Harris of Creative Cakes by Jenn made a delicious cake using butter cream frosting with fondan vegetables. To say she is amazing is an understatement! She made the cake that far exceeded our expectations with only one hand and went in for surgery as soon as she delivered the cake. Her own garden was the culprit of her hand woes. She also used sugar cones, filled them with cake, covered them with fondant and made extra large carrot cupcakes!
Isabel from Riley Bakes hand painted custom sugar cookies for the party, as well. She designed cookies to resemble carrots, radishes, pumpkins, vegetable baskets, and turnips.
Guests were able to take those home along with peat pots full organic vegetable seeds. I attached custom tags that Andressa of Twinkle Twinkle Little Party made to each pot. It is such a fun way to have guests remember the party long into the summer growing season. The guests also dined on fresh strawberry lemonade and lots of fresh vegetables.
No party is complete with a piñata and Aracely from Whack Piñatas created custom mini piñatas and shipped them across the country for the occasion. I love her creative vision and that she was able to take my ideas and create something that made Zoe Grace squeal with delight. The corn, carrot, and radish piñatas looked so cute in the garden crate.
I wanted my children to match Peter Rabbit with his blue jacket, so Kathey from Kathey’s Kids made blue seersucker dresses for my girls.
A Peter Rabbit party also needed some live bunnies for the children to love and pet. My friend, Sheri, graciously loaned us her bunnies for the day. The children were so sweet with the bunnies. It melted my heart to see Zoe Grace’s friends cuddle with the bunnies on the vintage blanket.
Zoe Grace truly had an amazing party surrounded by her family and friends. I knew she loved her party when she stopped playing with her friends, ran inside, twirled in a circle and said, “Ohmommy, this is the garden party of my dreams!”
