{Tutorial} Groundhog Day Push Pops

February 2, 2016September 29, 2017 Andressa Hara 1 comment

Hello, friends!

It’s Groundhog Day! If you are looking for a fun activity to do with the kids today, this idea is super cute and yummy! If you are not familiar with Groundhog Day. You can read it all about it here.

I am sharing this fun tutorial how you can put together adorable Groundhog Push Pops inspired by Sweetopoly. It’s so precious! You can use this idea for party favors or classroom treats!

My little boy arrived from school and he couldn’t wait to work on this fun little project!

First, let me share the list of supplies you will need to gather:

  • Push pop containers – you can find them at your local Craft Store.
  • Mini chocolate cupcakes
  • Chocolate covered (thin & long) sandwich cookies
  • Candy eyeballs
  • Crushed nuts, graham crackers
  • Mini candies for the nose (orange), teeth ( 2 white), ears (2 brown)
  • Chocolate icing for the cheeks
  • Small Piping & Ziploc bag
  • Icing to glue the eyes, nose and ears.

Directions:

Cut the chocolate covered sandwich cookie in half, then used two mini brown candies for the ears, Wilton’s candy eyeballs, super mini orange candy for the nose & 2 mini white candies for the teeth. We glued the pieces using white icing. Easy peasy! Let it dry completely.

Using a piping or Ziploc bag, squeeze some chocolate icing to make the ‘cheeks’.

2

Remove the cupcake liner before placing the mini cupcake in the push pop container.

34

Place the mini cupcake into the push pop container.

5

Sprinkle some crushed nuts, cereal or graham crackers over the cupcake.

6

This is the fun part. Place the groundhog on top of the cupcake by gently pressing it down until you see there’s enough room to place the push pop container lid.

7

The kids will love playing and eating this fun treat!
