We are celebrating a new book release from the creator of Goodnight Moon thanks to our sponsor HarperCollins!
Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown with illustrations by Clement Hurd is definitely a bedtime classic every mom-to-be should have. My sweet mother-in-law was the one who introduced it to me when I was expecting my first baby!
If you are also a big fan of Goodnight Moon, you will be thrilled to hear about Margaret Wise Brown’s new book – Good Day, Good Night! Brown’s signature word pattern paired with Loren Long’s gorgeous illustrations makes for another great bedtime book for your kids!
To celebrate the release of this new book, we are sharing simple and sweet Goodnight Moon Baby Shower ideas with you today! If you are planning on hosting a Baby Shower for a special mom-to-be, this is the perfect theme to welcome a new bundle of joy!
PARTY DECOR
Inspired by the adorable Goodnight Moon Bunny Rattle, I decided to go with a soft blue and yellow palette. You can’t go wrong with this sweet color combo. It’s perfect for both, baby boys and baby girls!
To match the theme, I made a star garland using glittered cardstock in white, gold and silver. I also made a tissue tassel garland in coordinating colors.
In addition, I incorporated fresh flowers and an adorable Nursery print inspired by Goodnight Moon.

SWEETS
Simple sweets we can decorate on our own are my absolute favorite. Simply adorn a buttercream cake with a DIY moon topper. *I used yellow glittered cardstock and a lollipop stick to make my own.
Cupcakes are a must at my parties! Simply embellish simple cupcakes with DIY glittered star toppers. To finish the look, place them in coordinating cupcake liners.
DRINKS
Sparkling Soda is always a favorite among Baby Shower atendees. Spruce up Soda Bottles using cheesecloth and a baby diaper pin. An easy and adorable idea for the occasion!

BABY SHOWER GAME IDEA
I adapted the “Hello, My Name is…” to perfectly fit a Goodnight Moon Themed Baby Shower
What you need:
Goodnight Moon Name Tags, a small jar or a piggy bank.
Before the party:
Print out Goodnight Moon Name Tags on sticker paper. Cut them out.
How to play:
Have each guest put on a name tag when they arrive. During the shower, people can be called only by their name tag name. If a guest calls someone by their first name, they have to put coins into the jar or piggy bank for the baby.
The guests will sure have fun being called “Old Lady”, “Little Kitten” or “Little Bear”!
BABY SHOWER GIFT IDEA TO THE NEW MOM-TO BE

PIN FOR LATER
Such a beautiful baby shower! The bright yellow drinks are my favorite. I love how this is based on a children’s book. So fun!
So happy to hear! Thank you so much! 🙂
Accidently found this site; so glad! Having a shower for my daughter and FIRST grandchild. Due this February! My theme already established with “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” ….my daughter and son-in-law do not want to find out gender; so going neutral! Goodnight Moon was a favorite among my triplets (my daughter has 2 brothers born with her, 29 years ago!) …so very excited to find another book; I ordered it the day I found your site. Already bought a frame for the download of “good night stars…..”
It is adorable! All this goes well with my theme! Thanks so much!
I am so happy to hear!! If you are on Instagram, please tag us. I would LOVE to see what you do! Thank you so much for your visit! 🙂

My kids love them so much! I hope you enjoy the freebie! If you have any questions, please feel free to ask! Big congrats on the new bundle of joy! What a sweet grandma he or she already has! Much love! Andressa
Hi Andressa, love this theme!
Planning to use it for a baby shower for my son and his wife’s first child…a boy!
Working on gathering all that I need and struggling to find a cute goodnight moon invite that uses the baby blue and yellow theme. Any ideas?
Thanks so much
Hi, Laura!
This theme is so sweet! I would check Etsy and if you can’t find any design ready to purchase, I would contact one of the sellers for a custom design. I hope this helps 🙂 Thank you so much for stopping! ?
