Hello, friends!
I can’t believe 8 years ago I was blessed with this awesome little boy! It’s been a great day celebrating his birthday! So this post is dedicated to our son simply because TTLP was born because of him! Mommy needed a creative outlet when I decided to be a stay-at-home mom. Do you know TTLP started as an Etsy shop for party printables then it became an event planning company? It’s been only 3 years since I rebranded and became a full time party stylist/blogger.
As you may have noticed, C has been involved in most of TTLP projects and I love the fact he gets to experience the behind the scenes, my meltdowns (Like the other day I dropped my favorite camera lens on the floor and it broke. I had a big meltdown!) and more importantly, my hard work. I want him to experience first hand nothing comes easy unless we work hard to achieve our goals. C has been a big part of TTLP journey and I am pretty sure he’s been learning a lot even though he is too young to fully understand how a business actually works.
Going back to his special day, we woke up super early and had a wonderful breakfast at one of our favorite places – First Watch. He requested his favorite chocolate chip pancake which is supposed to be a kids pancake, but it’s bigger than his face (ha!) He deserved a special treat! It’s his birthday after all…
Every year, we get him a chocolate birthday cake. C is a chocolate lover. He is also an ice cream lover so we decided to combine both this year. We got him a chocolate ice cream cake from Baskin-Robbins! (No, this is not a sponsored post!) Connor loves staring at BR’s cakes every time we go to Dunkin Donuts. So I chose this beautiful chocolate cake with yellow buttercream, topped with mini ice cream cones. Isn’t it just darling? I couldn’t help it but take a few shots!
It’s been a tradition…we take pictures with the birthday cake! Like a quick mini photo shoot because we normally sing happy birthday after dinner and it’s too late for good pictures!
*If you follow us on Instagram you can check out the previous years’ cakes 🙂
C gets excited each year to find out what type of cake we will get him. He was pretty amazed by this Ice Cream Cake. His face says it all. Too cute!
His 3-year-old sister was jumping up and down when she saw the cake and immediately asked “Is this for me?” She wanted to claim the cake right away! Girls! After crying for a few minutes and saying it was HER birthday not her brother’s, she asked if she could take pictures with the cake, too.
For his birthday dinner, we took him to the Magic Time Machine! It’s a very fun restaurant here in San Antonio for celebrations! We had a ton of fun! He tried their popular magic potion and was treated to balloon art & the staff singing happy birthday to him!
See his happy birthday video at the restaurant here.
We really don’t do anything fancy. We just love to create special memories with our little ones and make them feel loved & special!
And to our lovely son,
Thank you so much for being our ray of sunshine every day. Mommy, daddy and sister love you more than words could explain! Happy 8th Birthday, sweetie and please stop growing too fast! Love you so much!
Love,
Mom.
