Hello, friends! I am so excited to share this Vice Vice Baby Styled shoot submitted by Robyn of Alma Creative!
The inspiration for this shoot was a contemporary twist on a Miami Vice themed party, bringing back those 80’s nostalgic vibes, with a modern minimal and elegant look.
Geometric shapes were a huge part of the design, along with a color pallete of predominately white, teal, and pink with pops of yellow.
The dessert display was kept as a simplistic white slate to let the florals make their statement and keep the tropical feel of this shoot. Colored palms, monstera leaves, mixed with pink anthuriums and white ranunculus were styled in an asymmetrical fashion – keeping the look sophisticated and fresh.
Colorful vanilla macarons complimented the soft yellow geometric cake adorned with a pink anthurium. A neon flamingo sign added in some fun, and emphasized the decade of when Miami Vice had its reign.
The tablescape featured a floral runner of palms, ferns, monstera leafs and pink anthuriums, with pom poms nestled in the foliage for an unusual touch. Statement gold-topped pineapples gave a flirty chic look and brought the tabescape a focal point.
Guests were treated to custom acrylic name cards, pink plateware and acrylic monstera leaf coasters, which served well as décor at each place setting. Napkins were styled more formally to balance out the playful elements with sophistication.
Guests were served their choice of tropical cocktail, with options for a breezy Paradise Cocktail, Strawberry Lime Mojito and a classic Miami Vice (of course), with an acrylic swizzle stick of either a white pineapple or hot pink flamingo.
To beat the heat, a popsicle bar offered up a selection of piña colada, raspberry coconut, lemonade and strawberries with cream popsicles.
Guest favors were a box of buttery-yellow Amandes Au Citron du Paris sweets from YUM Sweet Shop to take home.
This modern take on a retro inspired Miami Vice party works well for showers, especially baby showers. In the words of Will Smith, welcome to Miami.
