Hello, friends!
I hope you didn’t miss the release of Twinkle Twinkle Little Party Magazine! If you did, no worries! Click here to view the entire issue!
This issue is filled with amazing party ideas for your Spring and Summer celebrations! I styled a Kentucky Derby party and I had a blast planning this shoot. I have been meaning to do this theme for years. I thought it would be a great idea to have it done for TTLP Magazine. I am sharing today some of the images that didn’t make the cut!
I designed a modern invitation suite. I had in mind something modern and Kate Spade-ish. Black & white combo with pops of red, red roses.
The invitation and save the date are available in our shop! Click here to see the listing!
Being the simple girl I am, I kept the main table super simple, which consisted of a beautiful two-tiered cake, macarons, cake pops and chocolate covered oreos. I used a bar cart to display some pretty cupcakes, take-home favors and of course the traditional mint juleps!
I had a beautiful tissue garland in black, white and gold Fun Fiestas by Ili made for our Valentine’s Day Shoot. I reused the garland and replaced the gold tassels by silver ones and finished the look with paper roses I quickly made using scrapbook paper.
Kristine of Celebrations Cake Shop made a beautiful cake to match the invitation design. Simple yet gorgeous! Exactly what I was looking for!
Nicole of Bella’s Bakery and Bowtique never ceases to amaze me. Her cake pops are perfection and they also taste amazing! She made a great mix to match the style of this shoot.
Janet of Sweet Temptations is a delight to work with every time! She had these striped chocolate covered oreos I needed to have for this shoot! She also made mini squared crushed ores chocolate bites I used for my favor boxes!
Of course Mint Juleps were incorporated complete with DIY drink stirrers! Get the recipe for mint juleps here and to make these fun horse stirrers here.
Bisou Bisou Macarons made the most gorgeous macarons! If you are looking for macarons for an event, contact Kathryn and Lisa! Their macarons taste absolutely amazing and they arrive intact every time!
I made some simple vanilla cupcakes and decorated some of them with store bought sugar roses…
I was lucky to have the best model alive! Thank you Aubrey for your patience and amazing help! Aubrey’s adorable daughter is in my son’s class. We were working on this shoot and our kids were having a blast running around the park!
Here are some of my favorite images I took from my beautiful model sporting her hat! I purchased the hat at T.J Max. Great find! Perfect for this shoot!
I hope you feel inspired to host a Kentucky Derby this year and use some of our ideas!
