Halloween festivities are around the corner and it’s time to spookify your breakfast time by setting up a kid-friendly cereal bar for some fabulously creepy Halloween fun!
I am not a big cereal eater but I love surprising my kids with a cereal box on special occasions. Last time I set up a cereal bar was for Saint Patrick’s Day. I figured it was time to plan a new one!
This time of year, the supermarket shelves are overflowing with nostalgic cereal boxes. Those sugary breakfast cereal marshmallows are calling my kids’ names and I can see the excitement on their faces already.
If themed breakfast cereal excites your children, setting up a spooky halloween cereal bar makes perfect sense. Not to mention you might receive the coolest mom award for the season.
What you will need to set up a quick yet fun cereal bar for the kids:
A table with an eye-catching backdrop.
I used a colorful fringe backdrop decorated with white stretchy spider webs and mini black spiders to add a little fright.
Fall/Halloween decor
To complete the look, I incorporated color coordinating pumpkins, spiders, bones, skeleton hands and an ombre skeleton I spray painted myself last year.
Mini Serving Bowls and Spoons
Luckily, I had these fun colorful bowls and spoons in my party inventory. One of the reasons why I always recommend checking your cupboards. You will be amazed with what you can find before making the decision to purchase new party supplies and decor.
Old fashioned Glass Milk Jugs
Old fashioned glass milk bottles make any party set up extra special. If any of your guests have dairy allergies, I strongly encourage you to label each milk jug.
Spooky Cereal (duh!)
This is the exciting part. I always opt for those cereal boxes inspired by classic horror film vampires and the Frankenstein monster. Be sure to display a great variety of chocolate and berry-flavored ones that will appeal to all different taste buds.
Homemade Pancake Cereal
I was feeling super inspired in the kitchen one day and decided to make mini pancake cereal. That’s right. Pancake Cereal! Apparently, it’s a new Tik Tok trend.
Have you made pancake cereal? Say yes so I don’t feel like I am the only mother who whips up a pancake batter from scratch and heats up the griddle at 4 a.m. to make miniature pancakes using a squeeze bottle. But if you haven’t, I encourage you to jump on the bandwagon.
These miniature pancakes are pieces of heaven. They are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. We used this Cereal Pancake Recipe by Cafe Delites.
Party tip: You can serve these miniature pancakes with maple syrup and butter. Or you can simply add milk to them. Easy on the milk because they do get soggy quickly.
I hope you feel inspired to set up your very own Halloween Cereal Bar this spooky season!
Happy planning!
